Telangana government’s ambitious Future City will come up in 10,124 acres in the southern parts of Hyderabad. It will cover about 10 villages, including Mucherla, Meerkhanpet and surrounding villages, where Hyderabad Pharma City was once proposed.

It will have eight zones, which include artificial intelligence city, life sciences hub, health city, sports hub, electronics and advanced manufacturing zone, education and university zone, residential zone and mixed and entertainment zone.

One of the crown jewels of Hyderabad Future City will be its focus on becoming a hub for life sciences and electronics. These industries are set to occupy a lion’s share of the allotted land, fostering innovation and attracting businesses from all over.

Around 8,000 acres out of the total 10,000 acres will be allocated to these hubs as per government sources. Life sciences hub will be allotted 4,207 acres, while the electronics manufacturing zone will get 3,642 acres.

The electronics zone’s companies will receive land along with testing facilities, plug-and-play facilities, e-waste disposal facilities, CETP and STP facilities, incubation centers, skill development facilities, and manufacturing support services.

AI-Hub

The 140-acre AI City is planned to include experience centers for in-house projects, a center of excellence, an application and cooperation center, and a hub for innovation and incubation. This will be created using the AI framework, or T-AIM.

The Young India Skills University

The Young India Skills University is a new, cutting-edge skills university in Telangana, offering courses in a number of subjects. The state assembly approved the “Young India Skills University Telangana (Public-Private Partnership) Bill 2024” in August 2024.

The state government laid the foundation stone for the university at Meerkhanpet in Kandukur mandal. The government is proposing an education and university zone by allotting 255 acres. The institution is expected to begin offering courses during the 2024-25 academic year.

Within the Airport area, there will be approximately 2 km of underground space, 20 km of elevated space, and 18 km of ‘At Grade’ (road level) space. The 18-kilometer route from the ORR Raviryal exit to Skill University will be part of a new green field 300-foot road.
